ashington D.C. – From April 17th to the 23rd, the Aerospace Gateway team has participated to two conferences organized by the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund during the Spring Meetings “Emerging Lessons on Environmental Assessment” and “Rethinking Infrastructure in Latin America and the Caribbean: Spending Better to Achieve More”.
With the new opening of the Washington office, Aerospace Gateway seeks to increase its internationalization process of the online network with its mission: to enhance Italian aerospace and defense SMEs in order to compete succesfully within the aerospace and defense global market.
The participation to these conferences has represented an important premise to identify the needs of the global market along with opportunities for the AG clients establishing a long and lasting relationship with the World Bank.
There is a positive link between the internationalization and the innovation in terms of product, service and processes: having access to the best international markets has become a prioritary need for Italian SMEs.
Given the high capabilities of Italian SMEs in the technological setting and know-how, AG becomes an interesting and concrete opportunity for Italian companies to participate to the procurement activities of the World Bank, that are supported by the Aerospace Gateway portal.
During the conference “Emerging Lessons on Environmental Assessment” it has been highlighted the importance of a continuous monitoring of all the phases of the life-cycle of a complex project. This includes the implementation of quality impact evaluation during the preparation of a project with adequate follow-ups on the problems caused.
In this case, Aerospace Gateway is perfectly aligned with the approach adopted by the Bank: to introduce a concrete support to our clients in the setting of Project, Cost and Risk Management. Particularly, Aerospace Gateway offers specific analyses and estimations, managing and monitoring of the continuous life-cycle of the project, starting from business opportunities identifications to prevention and mitigation of costs and risks.
Another important aspect that has emerged during the meeting “Rethinking Infrastructure in Latin America and the Caribbean” is the Pulic-Private Partnerships. In the LAC region (Latin America and Caribbean) almost 40% of infrastructural investments is made by this type of partnership (also referred to as PPP). In fact, PPPs offer to Italian SMEs substantial advantages in terms of productivity, competition, technologic development and innovation.
